Its still good

Thought I'd better post an update.

I've had no functional problems for ages now. No constriction or pain - been having totally normal sex with no problems. I didn't put any honey or anything on from december until now.

that last little stretch of the white phimotic ring never went away though. I always keep my foreskin retracted these days - its just a habit now. But just keeping it dry didn't get rid of that last white stretch, which is about 1cm (1/2 inch) long.

A few weeks ago I noticed the white ring starting to return. It was very slight, but I look carefully these days.

So I've started up putting honey on at night again ... and like before ... after just 2 nights, I'm seeing big results. The whiteness has diminished a lot. Hopefully this time I can get rid of it for good.

Last time the results seemed to good at first, and then get less and less as the weeks went by. I don't know if I was imagining it ... but it seemed like there was some kind of tolerance building up to the honey. So hopefully after this 4 month break, that tolerance has gone, and what is left to 'mop up' is much less than what I started with ... so here's hoping it goes away completely this time.

There is a little scarring on my glans where those raised bumps were, but it is nothing compared to the bumps themselves, and the scarring seems to be going away slowly. All in all, I have a healthier penis, and feel much better about it these days!

Hi, I like your blog very much because I have a bxo too even if my doctor said that it was a lichen sclerose.

I research the causes of this disease and somewhere it says that living a stress life or just be stressed by life can help to develop auto-immune diseases like phimosis.

How do you deal with stress?
And do you have penis discharge just after pooing?

Hiya,

Just stumbled across your blog. I believe I have bxo. IMO it is some sort of auto-immune thingy. It all started about 3 years ago with intense irritation of the glans after using a condom..allergy to latex or the spermicide ? I dunno. Anyway, that slowly subsided over 6-9 months or so and the inflammation transferred to my foreskin along with development of a progressive phimosis. Over the following 2 years I got into a sort of regular cycle. Abstenance from sex/masturbation gave me peace from inflammation but allowed the phimosis to progress. GP prescribed a topical steroid...which helped in the short term but each time I stopped treatment the condition progressed. Any attempt at stretching, as in sex or masturbation was followed by irritation, some splitting and even bleeding followed by an increase of the "white band" hallmark of phimosis.

Then some 2 months ago I came up with a home-made regimen that seems to be working.

Component 1 of the treatment is the application of a cosmetic moisturising cream several times each day to the constricted area after washing/drying with plain water.

Component 2 is a small section of plastic tubing of about the same diameter as my (non erect) penis. I have been inserting this so that the constricted area is subjected to very slight stretching overnight. A couple of tiny strips of adhesive dressing hold it in place. I can still urinate while this "appliance" is in place.

In the few weeks I have been using this the phimosis has all but vanished. I'm still getting some periods of inflammation but it they not followed by foreskin contraction and in between those periods my penis now looks and functions normally. I've tried stopping my "treatment" and all seems well for a few days...but I'm going to continue it for a while longer...heck, it has only been a few weeks and the results are excellent, so may as well carry on for a while.

But that inflammation ? Like you I have found it to be related to seminal fluid. I tend to get a flare up if I don't clean up with a water rinse immediately after ejaculation. For me that is still a pending issue. Hope my experiences with this will help.

Hi,

My problems have been resolved.

I started wearing hypoallergenic underwear a couple of months ago. Within 1 week all symptoms vanished and they have not returned.

Seems like all of my problems were down to irritation from fabric.

I've have this for about 10 years now. For about 3 years ever increasing strengths of corticosteroids. It did nothing but make it worse. Eventually I just gave up and stopped going to the dermatologist.

It seems to have stopped evolving as quickly now, however it's probably the worst it's ever been at the moment. For me, the small flap of skin on the bottom of the glans that attaches the foreskin was continuously tearing every time I attempted to pull the foreskin down. Excruciatingly painful. Easy access to pain relief in the form of poppy tea quickly turned into a problem itself, however allowed me to have sex with my girlfriend without pain and feel somewhat normal. To make matters worse, was in a very unhealthy relationship too which I stayed in as I feared no one else would want me.

At this point in my life now, I'm once again single, I've picked up an upwards momentup towards improving my life. After years of fear and delay, I had finally come to the decision that circumcision was the only was I was ever going to be normal and in all my reading that seemed to be the general sentiment.

I'm very excited to see your progress, I'd never have believed it just reading the text, but a picture says it all. However I fear mine may have progressed a bit further.

At the moment, I am barely able to retract the foreskin while flacid. The squeezing of the phimosis causes an immediate and very painful errection which it's all I can do to not pass out from the pain while I pull the foreskin back down. So that will make leaving the foreskin down not possible at the moment, however I'm excited to try the manuka honey.

Man, if this works, I will certainly help spread the word. Too many are suffering in silence. And the medical profession seems to have no clue.

Thanks so much for posting this
